Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you host year round?

A:  Yes. We are open 12 months out of the year. In season weddings are May – December and off season is January – April

Q: Can we tour the property?

A:  Yes, of course. Please contact us to arrange a time, where a member of our Events Team will walk you around the property and answer any questions you may have. Because of weddings on weekends we are usually limited to giving tours Mondays – Thursdays!

Q: Do you have a list of recommended vendors?

A:  Yes, when you book your event at StoneHurst, we will provide you with a comprehensive list – including local lodging, florists, photographers and videographers, photo booths, DJs, officiants, hair & make-up, transportation, cakes etc.

Q: Do you offer lodging?

A:  Sorry, we do not offer lodging.

Q: Do your venues have heat and air conditioning?

A:  Yes. Both the Mansion and the Barns have heat and air conditioning!

Q: May we have a DJ or a band?

A:  Yes, but music, with the exception of music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, must be played inside the barn or the mansion.

Q: Do you have tables and chairs?

A:  Yes, we supply the chairs, linens and napkins (extra charge for linens & napkins). 

Q: What color linens do you provide?

A:  Included in your package are White Linens and a color napkin of your choice from our selection.

Q: What happens if guests can't make it?

A:  You are responsible for the number of guests guaranteed on your contract. Your final count is not due until 4 weeks prior to your event date.

Q: What happens if more guests come?

A:  Your final count is due 4 weeks prior to your wedding date. If more people need to be added on after that count has been given, they will need to be added to your floor plan and paid for prior to your event date.

Q: What happens if it rains?

A:  Each venue at StoneHurst has indoor ceremony capabilities. Your coordinator will be in touch with you the week of your wedding to discuss the forecast and ceremony plans as it gets closer.

Q: Do you do a tasting before we book?

A:  We are not able to provide individual tastings for all of our brides & grooms. The quality of our food can be tasted at our large tasting held the year you are to get married in January.

Q: How many people can sit at each table?

A:  The Mansion can fit anywhere from 8 guests per table. Weddings held at The Barns can accommodate 10 guests per table at Farm Tables and 8 guests per table at Rounds.

Q: Can I bring my own alcohol?

A:  No, CT Liquor Law prohibits outside alcoholic beverages on the premises at all times.

Q: Where is my food prepared?

A:  Each venue at StoneHurst has its own dedicated kitchen with its own dedicated team of chefs & cooks following Stonehurst’s House Recipes.

Q: What do you serve to kids?

A:  Children ages 3-12 years will be offered Chicken Fingers & French Fries

Q: Can we bring leftover food home?

A:  No,  Connecticut Department of Health of Health prohibits food leaving our property. You and your guests safety is our number one concern. 

Q: Are there concerns with excessive noise?

A:  In consideration of our rural neighbors, events may have amplified music that is permitted outside the Mansion or the Barn during cocktail hour and ceremonies only, and inside the Mansion or barn until 11:30 pm.
